Benjamin began his investment career as an analyst performing property valuations for national banks and Wall Street clients. Ben went on to join a premier office and industrial real estate developer in mid-sized markets throughout the Southeast U.S. As an associate developer he was instrumental in acquisitions, developments, and leasing in a number of value add opportunities. Continuing to specialize in commercial real estate investment, Ben founded Benjamin Macfarland Company, LLC, as a licensed real estate brokerage in the State of Florida. Ben and his wife, Christina, enjoy serving on the Board of Trustees for various nonprofit organizations in Palm Beach County and Washington, D.C. Ben holds a Masters of Business Administration from American University.
Executive Director of Business Development
Christopher DeVaughn is the Executive Director of Business Development for Benjamin Macfarland Company. Before relocating to South Florida, he spent 3 years at RLJ Development in Besthesda, MD as the company deployed its 3rd Fund ($1.3 billion). After 2 years in project management, he then worked directly for the CFO as a financial analyst through the firm’s IPO process. Christopher joined Benjamin Macfarland Company in the fall of 2011. At BMC he leads the process of building the company’s deal sourcing and development business model and identifies and helps to secure strategic partners. Prior to his professional experience, Christopher received a Bachelor’s Degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. Here, he spent his summers interning with Corcoran Real Estate Group and Corcoran Sunshine New Development Organization in New York.
